Italy 2016

So we left for Italy on June 11th, 2016. We took the kids out of school a week early. We spent a few days in Rome seeing the Coliseum and a few other sights. We stayed in a cute apartment hotel with a beautiful courtyard area. And then we headed to Tuscany. We rented a house there for a week. It was a beautiful house in the middle of the mountains with a playground and a pool and was quite relaxing. After some down time in Tuscany, we took some day trips to Pisa (which the kids and I called Pizza just to be silly) and Florence as well as a few other towns I cannot remember the name of but thoroughly enjoyed. On our last day before flying out, we toured a few wine tasting villages and found some good wines to bring home.
Italy is very beautiful and we had a great trip!

Grace and Tyler chilling out in our apartment hotel in Rome.
The gazebo area of the apartment hotel in Rome.
Grace and Ty hanging out by one of the many fountains in Rome.
I took a pic of them doing OH but didn't get the IO......lol
Taking a little break from all the walking......

One of our many gelato stops!

Ty loving his gelato!

Took a break from touring one day to see the zoo. Ty wasn't too interested in the animals but he loved the slide we found there!

Grace wanted me to take a pic of this baby goat at the zoo. She said it was the smallest goat she had ever seen.

Ty talked Grace into going on the slide with him.

Pretending to be animals at the zoo.

Ty is giving the frog some water!

 Grace likes watching the meerkats.

Grace pretending to be a turtle!
Ty just hatched!

And now Grace has hatched too!

Now Tyler is a turtle! Silly kids.

Grace, sucker in mouth, posing by the fountain.

Grace and daddy enjoying some refreshments.

Mommy and Ty!

Grace loved her fresh pineapple juice.

Ty is pretending to like his fresh apple juice but he actually hated it and gave it to his sister lol.

Always playing in the dirt. They say can we stop we need to rest our feet but they do not rest, they dig in the dirt.

One of the rare moments they weren't fighting this summer.

Posing for the camera!

Dancing in the streets.

Grace and Daddy at the coliseum.

Grace and Ty at the coliseum. Grace is holding her souvenir, a mini Coliseum.

The inside of the Coliseum was not as I imagined it at all. I thought it was flat like a field. Apparently there was a wood top and the animals were under it.

Oh yes, time for more gelato. When in Rome.....lol

The VERY cold pool at the Tuscany house.....didn't bother the kids....but I didn't go in once...

View of the mountains from the Tuscany house.

In the pool in Tuscany again.

In the pool again.

Oh yeah, a cold shower in the pool!

The orange/pink building behind Grace is the house we stayed at in Tuscany.

This was our rental car.

Mountain view from the house in Tuscany.

We had the top part of the house only.

Kitchen inside the Tuscany house. We had a reprieve here from eating out. Barry made us some great food!

Lots of room to run around and play in Tuscany.

And a playground/swing set as well!

And a seesaw/teetor totter!

And a slide!

Found a soccer ball at the market so Grace was enjoying practicing!

The porch area of the Tuscany house. The walls were a bit high, if you sat in the chairs it blocked your view but the kids loved it!

The road less travelled......on the way to the Tuscany house.

The leaning tower of Pisa, we nicknamed the leaning tower of Pizza!

I was surprised at how small it was! I thought it would be a lot taller~

A cute hallway in a neat town we found.

A cute town with little shops and things to look at. Grace found a Hermoine Granger wand here!

Um, yes of course, MORE gelato!

Did I like Italy? Yes, yes I did, says Ty!

A playground we found in Rome.

One of the last days in Italy...wine tasting...

Ty was enamored with all of the country flags and wanted to buy all of them.

Being silly in Italy.

Kids were bored while mom and dad were wine tasting.

Last night together in Italy. Found a good seafood restaurant by the airport.

We had the restaurant all to ourselves so after dinner, Ty and Grace decided to dance with each other to music in their heads no one else could hear of course! I love these two!
